Welcome to the Gulf Shores Virtual Academy. 

We are excited to share with you the amazing educational opportunities offered to students accepted into the Gulf Shores Virtual Academy.

The Gulf Shores Virtual Academy offers students in grades Kindergarten through high school a personalized online learning environment.

Students in grades K-5 are able to enroll in their standard core classes of Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies as well as having the ability to add on electives such as art, music, technology and foreign language. Students will meet regularly with their teachers in Zoom classes for additional instruction in their core curriculum.

Blended Virtual in K-5 is available for virtual students to be able to attend enrichment classes in-person at GSES with a class in their grade level. The virtual student will attend art, music, STEAM, Spanish and Library enrichment classes for 40 minutes per day (one class per day), with the same class each day.

Students in grades 6-12 in the Virtual Academy have the added bonus of being able to choose between being fully virtual or being blended virtual. Students who elect to be blended are allowed to take classes both online and on our middle and high school campus. This feature allows both students and parents to further personalized the learning experience.

Once a student reaches 10th grade, our Virtual Academy offers the opportunity for students to take Dual Enrollment classes through the University of Alabama, Auburn University, South Alabama, and Coastal Alabama Community College. Students are even given the option of taking in-person classes at Coastal Alabama Community College. These classes count for high school graduation credit as well as college graduation credit.  This allows accelerated students the option to go ahead and begin their college and career journey.

All Gulf Shores Virtual Academy teachers are highly qualified and trained to provide the best strategies for learning in an online environment. Our teachers are available daily and provide on-site tutoring when needed in our Virtual Academy lab located in the Gulf Shores Cultural Center.
